PT Screenshot or it didn't happen.
Slightly OT, but this guy took a prop bet to turn $5 into $1000 in 7 days.

Forum: Bonus Whores | | I never build a serious bankroll so I stayed at the $25nl, but I made 35k over about 3 years ending with 18k in 2006(running about 15ptbb/100 3-4 tabling 6 max). I played almost entirely on the party skins and bodog. I would think it is much more efficient to build up a bankroll and play some of the bigger games, but i never could have the discipline to keep my money in. | | Static Link |

ive gotten freeroll money on 4 different networks, enough to where i had at least $100 in the end.
FT is really hard to win freeroll money on, true enough.
bodog, doylesroom, ultimate bet, AP.
Maybe im just a pro at building stacks...btw up to $500 now...time to try $20 games on FT. wish me luck | | Static Link |

Yeah, but it took him 6 months to scrape up enough freeroll money to buy in to a $1 tourney. After that, he was a juggernaught of course. Just shows that even a top-tier pro needs a generous dose of luck to beat an ocean full of freerolling donkeyfish.
Amen

yeah thats my goal for the SNGs...see how far I can go before I cannot beat them.
I suppose its possible that I can beat them all, but honestly a $2000 buyin scares me. The money does matter. | | Static Link |

FT's freerolls are hard to get any cash going. I started with doyles site when they had free 9 man tourneys and for a win you got 5 cents. I did this until I had a buck then moved up from there....bonus whored, omaha hi/low and SNG my way to around $4000
Recently I fixed my friends PC and I told him to pay me by betting on my college team, but he only had FT money so he gave me $25 there (it wasnt much of a fix). Anyway I am up to $350 right now....but this time im being more aggressive.
I'm currently doing $10+1 SNGs and earning there, which is more than double than i did in my previous runs.
Really all it takes is being a winning player.
I enjoy moving up...it's just like a mmorpg for me. $25? play the $2 sng, get to $60? play the $6 sng, get to $240? play the $10 sng, get to 400? play the $20 sng...etc. | | Static Link |

I took $25 and turned it into more than $10,000. So it can be done. But that was a long while ago when the climate was better.

Forum: Bonus Whores | I personally think its rather a difficult task considering how hard it is in the first place to place in the freerolls and then building enough of a bankroll to handle the high variance as your make your way up through the micro-limits.

It is pretty interesting. And he completed his goal. Doubt anyone with the skills would do it and doubt anyone just starting off could do it. But gives hope to the fish to make it HUGE! I wish I was disciplined enough but BJ calls my name every time I enter a casino(thank gawd I have blocked BJ at any of the online sites I play at). And now I have people trying to teach me how to play craps. All of which kills bankrolls.

Forum: Bonus Whores | | A world class player would be wasting their talent at micros, in my opinion. Wouldn't the skills that make someone WCP be useless on such tables? I dunno of Sklansky is correct, but he seems to think there are different skill sets needed for small stakes games (ie small stakes holdem). Now I'm not even close to WCP status and 3/6 is the highest game I've ever played (and only rarely) so I dunno if it's true. | | Static Link |
| Posted by: daraider at November 9, 2007, 10:33 pm | | Topic: how much could a world class player earn at micro-stakes? Forum: Bonus Whores | I actually think higher than 20BB/100 would be possible due the willingness to stack off. Where TPTK is often good enougth to play for stacks.
My cousin says he regularly sees the same guys in the plo 25 with $100+ stacks. In NL 25 a double up is 100BB.so even once every 4 hours is 25 assuming the rest of your play is break even. So I 30 or 40 is possible due to the devalued way hands are played.
That sais i think a worldclass player would struggle at first as a lot of his value come from resteals, 2nd barrels, etc which just aren't going to work at low levels.
The people who do the best at low levels are patient nut peddlers. If you can do that you can make a killing there. | | Static Link |

Forum: Bonus Whores | Assuming a world class player played big bet poker at microstakes - no limit holdem or PL Omaha or PL Stud - how big a win rate could be sustainted vs the fish. Lets say $10 NLHE / $10 PLO / $10 pot limit 7CS.
Just looking over my own data, it lookes like the players are better at holdem than stud or omaha, still fish but relatively better.
