This month I opened an account at Classic poker, and doubled up $400 in, $800 out.
In my experience conventional wisdom that Party as having the most fish is absolutely true VPIP of 40% at the NL $25 table is very easy to find, and you don't even need bait to catch the fish. They jump into the boat.
68 raises to $3 from EP. I reraise to $6 from late, 68 is all in for $30, and my pocket kings stand up.... Ya sure sometimes they suck out, but as long as you avoid calling all-ins with nothing but don't fold to easily Party 25 NL, is very profitable. | | Static Link |

Man, I second that idea. I just got crushed last night on Party 3/6. I have been playing NLHE & a little LO8 but I just cannot get a friggin handle on what the hell is going on in these games. People bet raise and call with 2 overcards on the board, draws everywhere and pull it down with middle pair no kicker.
I'm dazed and confused by it, and I let myself go on tilt last night like a dumbass. I need to just understand that I have no friggin idea what is happening in this game, esp. when you hit 4% out of 280 hands and see 21% of flops.

My account, down $38 after the bonus.
Finished the girlfriend's bonus last night, +$18 after the bonus...and I was down around $230 at one point, until I rebounded in the last 100 hands.
So my net results, with them giving me $300...-$20. Eeeesh. This place makes me feel like a losing poker player. The strange thing was, while playing off my girlfriend's hands, I was usually 7-8 tabling at another site. First 380 hands, I was down $75 at Empire, but up $85 at a Prima site. Next 300 hands, I was down $30 at Empire, but up $45 at PokerPlex. Last night I was down another $40 at Empire, will being up $48 at Will Hill over about 100 hands. Then polished off the rest of the Empire bonus on it's own, and was getting crushed again early on, until making the late rally at the end. Evil Empire indeed.

Finished Empire reload FINALLY! Oh yeah! I lost my bonus for the first time in a long time. It was totally fucking brutal on the tables tonight. I won't even get into how many times I had the sets that lost and A's cracked 7 times. All in the course of 550 raked hands. I saw a lot of European players online tonight and I think that has something to do with it.

My cards are a whole lot better though, I have to admit and I'm not losing money to cosmically bad horseshit over and over and over.

Played quited well too , first 400 hands were just ice cold seeing like 12% flop, 3% games won, next 400 were riddled with 2 out rivers, then the last 400 were fine.. stats all looked great, but in the end still down $20 from that "hot streak". My log has always had a long history of losing money at Poker Now, yet all the others skins are highly profitable. Not really concerned, as I'm offsetting by winning big elsewhere .. and the streak of always winning had to end someday.

Watched the 8 or so AK make a pair once. Flop a set only to see a fourth flush card hit on the turn/river. My last hand, AKs loses to KTs when the flop is KKx, we cap the turn, and the douche nozzle hits a T on the river. Down another $130 in 100 hands. I believe the only hand I won was when I was dealt AA. Yay. I'm really getting burned out, I just want this finished. Gimme my damn $150 so I can slink away in the corner with the other losing players.

After my initial post of fearing I would loose more than the $100 signup bonus while clearing it, I have had a couple of good streaks (was up like 50BB in 50 hands at one point).
They have of course stabilized after that, but I am still ahead a bit since I posted last, which gives me a good chance of reaching the 500 raked with at least a bit of the bonus left (though I doubt I will win anything on top of it).
I can't blaim/credit it all to bad/good luck - I have a feeling it is one or both of these reasons, for me:
1) Table selection. I can't play all types of players well (or even decent, perhaps)
2) Letting the results affect my game. If I start a session up, I might end up playing better for it. If I start it poorly, I tend to trust my non-nut cards less and less, and probably have worse judgement. | | Static Link |
