I recently gave 2/4 a shot and thought the same thing at first. My first 2k hands I was up 100BB, the next 1K I was down 150BB. There was one stretch where I dropped 110BB in about 300 hands, brutal! | | Static Link |

As for party,
1,500 hands at .5/1 i'm about 20 dollars down
705 hands at 2/4 last night i'm up 220 dollars
I just wanted to see if anyone else was seeing these kinds of differences
I usually play about 1000 hands of 2/4 per session. After about 50000 hands, I running around 3ish/100 hands.
I've had sessions of up 400 or so bucks, and also down 400 bucks. On the short term, it depends on the cards.
700 hands is less than insignificant.

you need at least a 10k to be somewhat reliable...i have a 7.5bb/100 at the cryptos 1/2 over 12k hands... ya this would lead me to believe that cryptos are easy.....

I'll just have to reiterate... these are miniscule numbers. Don't jump to any conclusions based on them. For comparison, my record for $2/4 limit is 34 hands, down $70.
Could just as easily have been up $70 or break even. 34 hands is nothing. 705 is also nothing, when it comes to grading the game play at a certain level. If you have 10k hands at each level, and one has considerably better stats than the other - then you might start to analyze. Though you need more for it to be reliable.
If you started up on $2/4 - great. Keep going, see if it keeps up - if it does, there is no point in looking back. Prepare for the inevitable variance though, as always. | | Static Link |
| Posted by: NWCougar at July 17, 2005, 1:36 pm | | Topic: two things i learned tonight Forum: Bonus Whores | The thing I noticed about the crypto's is, I was trying to clear a bonus at 1/2 and the table was tight, so i just bet every hand i got until there was over $5 in the pot. I did get lucky a number of times by catching runners but overall the table seemed to be scared of me. I would bet and bet and they would chase to the river then fold. This was on 3 tables. They scare easy over there.

However on a site like party all you have to do is play tight to beat the competition because the maniacs will pay you off and then how you do becomes more reliant on the cards your getting and whether or not they are hitting the flop and holding up. | | Static Link |

2. The Crypto micro tables are WAY WAY WAY easy. I don't play them but a friend with 5000 hands in is in the 12BB/100 range.
60% flops are normal and it gets even fishier post flop. I was at his house the other night and he had 3 tables all in the 50-60% range.
I would think a good player can win at a 8BB/100 pertable over the long run on those tables. | | Static Link |
| Posted by: FeelingLucky at July 17, 2005, 7:05 am | | Topic: two things i learned tonight Forum: Bonus Whores | Of course you may be right, but if you learned them both tonight, I'd have to guess you have pretty small sample sizes You could be doing extra well, regardless of tactic.
Though I agree you can steal blinds and bully people at the Cryptos, winning many small pots. Don't know about the $2/4 though, my experience there is extremely limited, and all bad | | Static Link |

2) party poker 2/4 is easier than .5/1
could be just me
