I was thinking the same, tought he was on a windup. But deffo it's not. He has close to 500$ in his real poker account and they refuse to return him the money.
This looks quite serious and the man it's getting desperate.

I bet your friend is a play-money colluder to boot! He may even be a play-money chip laundering king pin. If this play-money chip laundering gets any worse it could cause Internet poker as we know it to collapse. I am deeply concerned and think all poker rooms need to tighten up security on their play-money and take it more seriously.

I know a while back I got an email from True Poker with a promo where they would trade play chips for real ones. I was in the middle of some good whores at the time. When I finaly got around to doing it I discovered it was past the date so I dont remember the details. but it looked like a pretty good deal and might have ben worth buying some play chips

It makes sense to me. People often like to appear impressive, and they may feel that millions of play chips looks impressive. $20 at a $0.50/$1 table just isn't very impressive.

I'm not sure if that's the kind of answer you were looking for, though. Sometimes people use "I don't understand why someone would buy X" to mean "I'd never buy X." In that case, I certainly agree with you. I would not buy play chips at any price unless I could resell them for a large enough profit to be worth my time.

People buy and sell play money on EBay, so apparently it does have some value. I'm not surprised that they're clamping down on this.

Aside from apologizing to support and asking for reinstatement, I don't know what he should do.

One of my friends just received this from Pokerroom and had his account closed:

Thank you for your recent email. We apologize for the delay in replying to you.
This is to inform you that your account has been blocked.
The reason is because we have detected that you are involved in sending/ receiving large amounts of play-money that were acquired by illegal means (dumping of money). Dumping of money, regardless of whether it is play-money or real-money is an offence that is taken seriously at PokerRoom.

LMAO

He was pissed when he lost money in the real tables and decided to simply get in some all in action on the play money to relax.
Hours later, he found his account locked and received this email when he asked why was he closed. The live chat guy closed the chat when he stated who he was and tried to get the reason behind this action.

What do u thing he should do?
