Prima revoked my membership ... or actually they just cut my chat without telling me ... same result anyway .. because I was talking with other players about other poker rooms.
I wasn't promoting them. Someone had asked a question about a different poker room and I responded.
However that had happened once before and I was warned, but just as I said to them then, I say now. When have you ever entered a b&m establishment, say a cafe .... and been threatened to be thrown out for discussing a different cafe at your table? Its utterly rediculous.
if they're not big enough to accept the fact that other poker rooms DO exist; and that ... surprise! some of their players also patronize other poker rooms .... all I can say is grow up Prima. You're pathetic.

Hi guys, looking to get back into poker and have some random questions about online play after reading through a bunch articles.
1) There's always a tip about table selection in online rooms, but how exactly do you determine a good table? what methods do you use to pick a table? both in the <1/0.5 and >2/1 range, for holdem limited rooms.
2) do any of you use softwares that auto analyze each hand for you? kind like card counting in blackjack. I read that almost everyone uses those softwares on the higher up tables. Well noone will probaby admit it...but what's the current situation with those softwares and bots that play poker for you in online rooms?
3) On pokerstars, there are $0.02/0.01 rooms. The people that play there, is it purely for newbies to practice? are there any other reason.
Can you play in those rooms and get your matching bounus or they require you to play in higher stake rooms?
thanks guys!

Hi all,
I know what your saying RammerJammer, it's happened to me before as stated above, more often than not it's not even an ISP issue but rather the poker software, and no you won't get the poker support to admit there is a problem with their server or connection.
You say it mostly only happens when you play poker, that should tell you something, the software is either not compatible with your pc or something worse. I cannot run bodog on my pc because it's windows98, bodog software only runs on later ersions of windows, their loss.
Some poker rooms have iruses, this is probably not mentioned enough but it happens, especially with new poker rooms which don't have the budget needed for the security when starting out. Saying that even some well known poker rooms have iruses too.
My point is it is hard enough to win consistently without the added worry of disconnects, if your disconnecting frequently you shouldn't be, so it might be worth trying another poker room. Also check the thi... | | Read Entire Entry |

Forum: Bonus Whores | I don't really foresee it as a problem as long as poker remains popular. There is so much competition and new poker rooms are popping up like weeds, so the poker rooms have to offer bonuses to stay competitive. However, when poker industry becomes more mature, we are going to see less and less bonuses. It's just that I don't see this becoming a reality for at least several years.

Just thinking which room is good for unlimited rakeback bonus on NL HE full ring tables.
Want to start with small LImits (50c and 1$ BB)
I think Cake Poker might be the best for me.
I compared it with Sun Poker. The hourly rates are pretty similar, so the level and the availability are more important.
Another deciding question is:
Does Pokertracker and Poker Ace Hud work with this rooms?
What I also don't unterstand. Why are hourly rates so different when looking at Ace Flush Poker and Cake Poker. Both rooms have 30% Rakeback bonus.
To play rooms like 24h or Poker Champs doesn't make sense if I play at these low limits i mentioned above!?!?
Would you recommend to play a totally different room?

A page that lists all the Prima Poker rooms and all their varied deposit bonus offers is at http://www.poker-room-reviews.com/prima-poker-rooms.htm
Pick carefully because Prima only lets you get one of these "1st deposit" bonuses for all of the rooms. If you have less than $250, Golden Riviera's $50 for $50 is good, otherwise Riverbelle Poker's 20% bonus up to $100 is better.
After Paradise, I'd suggest Party since they tend to keep giving out "please come back - here have a 20% to $50" offers. Even if you don't max out the 1st deposit bonus you'll catch up with just one of those.
True Poker has one problem in that their minimum is $1/2 limit - most of the others are $.50/$1 or less. | | Static Link |

Of course, it also depends on the reason behind the original question, too. Most poker rooms let you play in freerolls without making a deposit of any kind, although a lot of them have withdrawl policies requiring deposits/hands played etc. BUT, there are some poker rooms out there with no withdrawl restrictions (Like JunglePoker.com). They believe in giving you what you've won.

You have personally checked out over 1k online casinos and over 400 online poker rooms and verified that none of them are on a server based in the US? Yes I know it's illegal and no one would ever think of doing something illegal even for money.

where you can apparently make a deposit to any poker room using your normal Visa or Mastercard. It is being recommended by some of the poker rooms, and I learned about it in an email newsletter from one of them.
If it works as advertised it could be ery useful.
Since the poker rooms are endorsing it, I presume it is reasonably sound. However, being in the UK, I am still using Neteller. So, please be aware that I have not tried it personally and cannot ouch for it.

I was thinking about this recently because of the recent BW review of GamesGrid, which also does not have all-in protection.
I personally consider it to be a significant drain on EV to play at such sites. Losing even 1 or 2 pots per year to an internet snag at such a site, is more than a mild irritation. This can easily cost hundreds of dollars.
I would be curious what other whores think about this.
I also think this item is significant enough that the poker rooms' all-in policies, or lack thereof, should be included somewhere in the BW site reviews. | | Static Link |

Poker rooms typically take a 5% cut of every pot, and this is called the "rake". You will often see it being stacked at the top of the table when you are playing. So if a pot reaches 20$ there is 1$ rake for the Room ........ usually maximum rake is 3$ ( for Pots 60$ and up ) ... some few rooms take up to 5$. If you play SH/Shorthanded or HU/Heads-up the rake is smaller
There are 2 rakeback free rooms on the internet, maybe more but those two I do know
There are many Websites which are offering you get a so-called "rakeback" for most of all PokerRooms...... it`s different, some Rooms does calculate the rakeback if you`re active contribute money to the pot, other if you just get dealt cards ( rakeback - rakeshare/rakerabate ) ..... just a few words to the topic "rake" ;-)

The 3 rooms are "skins" of the same i-poker network - which is no different than, say, Empire Poker and Party Poker sharing the same network of players. I really hope you understand why you can't be logged into Titan and CD Poker at the same time from the same computer...this should be self-explanatory.
No, online poker is not rigged...and seeing networks of rooms with the same player base doesn't "make me think" it's rigged, either.
