Is this another nail in the coffin of online casinos?

First credit cards were banned and that severely impacted these casinos. But at least there was still Paypal which many people were familiar with through Ebay so the casinos could keep on truckin.

But now without Paypal, your ordinary gamblers will have to really go out of their way to play the online casinos.

Throw in the fact that there is a good chance that significant anti-online gambling legislation will be passed in the US and this could be severe for online casinos since the US is at least 50% of the market.

Am I beingo overly pessimistic? Please tell me I am.

Get rich mad with online casinos

I had been having such a hard time of it all recently. I felt like I was going mad. Actually, to be honest, according to my psychiatrist, I was going mad. He hadn't classified me as insane, but since I was hearing oices, he was now trying out arious different drugs on me to see if he could bring me back to sanity. Unfortunately - so far - nothing was working. Depressed, I logged on to online casinos. I figured if I was going to be mad, I may as well be wealthy mad and I had a good chance of making some nice money on the online casinos so I figured I should go ahead...at least whilst they were trying to determine which awful medication I was going to have to try next. The online casinos were going to be good for me, of that I was sure. Well, I was right. I did make a lot of money from the online casinos. But something else (fa...

I was just looking at some of the Julie's Gambling Grumbles and it really struck me as to how inept, illiterate or just plain shady alot of these casinos are. They have no idea what service is. They ignore, tell bs, change the web pages when promotions go against them,etc.etc.

At this time, I cannot imagine recommending online gambling (to anyone i like, lol)unless they were shown exactly which casinos are solid. Anyone who doesnt know what they are doing could ery easily be ripped off. I wonder what % of the 1800 or so online casinos are solid.

Please God let the Nevada casinos get online soon as possible!! The H.ll with bonuses. Just let me play somewhere I feel sure is fair!!!!!!!! Oh yeah God, also please do away with all of the sleazoid casinos out there now (although im sure the Nevada casinos will take care of that).

At least once every trip I get one or two ladies who come up and olunteer to be my "lucky charm". (Of course, I'm not ain enough to think that it's for free, and of course it never is)

I haven't had that happen at any of my online casinos. (Except the guy who cussed me out and badgered me at ****** Casino when I wouldn't let him play at my table).

This is a fine example of why gamblers should avoid online casinos. The fact is there are only two or three honest online casinos. The rest either use cheating software or refuse to pay you.

Stick to land-based casinos in regulated jurisdictions. You won't be cheated and all you have to do to receive your winnings is walk up to the cashier and cash in your coins and chips. No fuss, no muss, and you're paid within minutes. No online casino can match that.

The propagandists want you to believe that gambling online is all nice and swell, but it’s not, and the propagandists have an agenda—money! And your money at that. Ignore them.

I think rigging accusations existed as soon as the first casinos came online.

Being a big name just isn't enough anymore. The older you get, the harder it is to retain your clientele.

Sooner or later, though, there will be a point at which it is not worthwhile to put a casino online unless you have significant backing - and eventually the cream will rise to the top.

Especially when the Vegas casinos start coming online in a couple of years.

Hello Everyone! Thanks for your interest and... ummm... SARCASM!!
ha ha ...Love it!

Just to give an idea of what this is all about...

My project for my class is a case study on online casinos. Why people like them, why they play, what percentage play them just for the freebies (comps are they called?) and what percentage spend real money. What the top 10 online casinos are and why... also curious about the trust levels... that seems to be an issue... it would be one of mine. I still find it hard to buy a book online let alone Bet online. It is ery intriguing to me.

I chose online casinos because everyone else in the class chose boring already done things. Online casinos seem ery interesting and no one has done a case study on them before.... I'm shooting for an "A" in this class!!!! =)

So, I'll be getting the survey together today and I'll post it here and I'll email it to the people who emailed me.

Gotta love the headline. They're right, it has a ery slim chance of passing the Senate. Should that snowball melt, it really doesn't accomplish anything new. And, as history has shown, prohibitions make rich men of defiant individuals.

Online Casinos To Congress: Thanks For The Publicity!

With the House of Representatives moving yesterday to try to ban online casinos in the US, you'd think that would be bad news for those casinos -- many of whom admit the majority of their customers are from the US. Not so, apparently. The stock market has driven the stock of many of these online casinos up following the news of the bill being passed. It seems that investors realize that, not only does this have no chance of actually going anywhere, the discussion about online casinos has only acted as a ton of free publicity for the sites, perhaps encouraging some people to sign up and play now, just in case the sites are forced to go away.

Prosperity you are so right. When the land based casinos get online, it will be the death knell for sooooo many of the current batch. (although the Nevada Senate did not pass the bill today, d.mnit.)
As far as the large upfront bonuses offered by many online casinos, i still cannot understand why so many go under even with these bonuses. They are usually only for first time depositers and besides, HOW MUCH OVERHEAD CAN AN ONLINE CASINO REALLY HAVE, as compared to say Bellagio?
Am i all wrong, or are many of these casinos so-called financial problems caused more by their own greed than by the evil bonus abusers (who are smart enough and self-disciplined enough to use bonuses to their advantage per the casinos OWN TERMS.)

Having only come across generally "in control" savy online gamblers such as those who frequent these forums, I tended to think that online casinos had a harder time of it than most posters realised.

A UK pal emailed me sad tale of how gambler lost his wife and ended up running up 53,000pounds (so lot of $US) on his card, then hanged himself because of not knowing how to tell his family and pay the debt. Pal said it would have been interesting to know which casinos they were.

Someone also told me they lost their home playing online.

It would seem that online casinos do have so big losers. I suppose it shouldn't surprise me as I actually know land gamblers who have lost up to $2million. So why can't they pay up as they should when players win.

I have to agree with the thetruthbeliever. Chargebacks are what keeps casinos honest. Online casinos don't pay us out of the kindness of their hearts. They pay us because they fear the chargeback option. If chargeback wasn't available, many casinos wouldn't even give us our own deposits back, much less pay us our profits.

I have been gambling online for few years now, and I have played for real at more than 500 online casinos, and I have NEVER EVER been stiffed out of my own deposit when I have used my credit card. Because the casinos know that if they try to stiff me, I will charge them back in a heart beat. So casinos act honest.

The only time I have been stiffed out of my deposit was when I deposited ia PayPal at www.gigaming.com. They not only refused to pay my winnings, but they kept my own deposit too. They wouldn't have been able to do that, if I had used my credit card.

Take my word for it, if the threat of chargebacks is ever removed, the casinos can AND WILL screw a...

Golden Riviera has a history of slow paying winners. Sometimes they take months to pay up.

But asking for ID and utility bills is nothing new. Most online casinos ask for these items. It's a pain, but if you play online, you have to accept it. If you don't want to send these items, then you will have to avoid playing at online casinos.

Also, which are the most popular and widely used online casinos around? I was told that partypoker.com is the most popular and largest online poker scene, however, I don't seem to hear it mentioned much and it doesn't come up in searches often.

In all U.S. B&M casinos players receive a W2-G form for any slot/VP win $1200 or higher. You won't pay any taxes on the spot (except in Miss. and maybe in other, smaller gambling markets). No big deal. It only takes a few minutes for the form and your money to arrive, and you know you will be paid.

The same thing goes for waiting in line to cash your chips or coins. It may take a few minutes, but you will be paid, no question.

But no online casino can match that.

The fact is, almost all online casinos will run winners (and many losers) through a number of time consuming and tedious processes just to receive the money that rightfully belongs to the player. And many online casinos still give players grief even when they meticulously follow the erification procedures to the letter (just read the threads on this site for proof).

Online casinos do this primarily to tire out the player in the hopes that he or she will return and lose their money. Security is jus...

It may not be that bad. Many non-gamblers have PayPal accounts. Anyone who has used E-bay probably has a PP account.

Over the last few months, I've realized many of my non-gambling friends have PayPal accounts. All of them have used PP for E-bay transactions.

When my CC's started to be declined at online casinos, I had to be dragged kicking and screaming to PP. I just didn't want to go through all the hassles.

But if I wanted to play, I needed to join PP. Now that I have a PP account, I use it for many other things besides online gambling. Even if I weren't gambling online, I would still have a PayPal account.

Ecasinos will have to make an effort to get customers into PP. If they can do that, they shouldn't have a problem.

Still, depositing at online casinos isn't as easy as it used to be. The clever casinos will survive. The bad casinos will go under.

The reason those arent online is because the company that builds these machines (IGT- International Gaming Technologies) would have to give their blessing I believe. I think they may be waiting to see what happens with online gambling in the US legally.

If it is completely legalized, then the land based big boys will start online casinos and then is when i believe we will see Double and Triple Diamonds, Red, White and Blue, 5 Times Pay and others.

Regarding the paytables online, most of these slots have similar paytables to land casinos. For example, Double Diamonds has a top jackpot of 800 coins (playing one coin) and a second high payoff of 80coins for 3 red sevens.

The gap between top and second best is usually higher if the jackpot symbols are mulptipliers (2x,3x,5x,10x).

I have played online slots in a major number of casinos. My favorite for most realistic looking and playing are casinos using Microgaming software. These casinos are also more solid and reliab...

Probably your computer is on a 'net, and registered as such.

Anyway, the fact he works for another casino is completely irrelevant, in my mind. I have talked to quite a few online casino employees who play online.

Since they cannot play at their own casinos, they have to play at others. Almost all online casinos do not allow their employees to play at their own casinos.

If he had made a deposit and won, would they have paid him his winnings? Or denied them for this same reason?

If their T&C do not ban employees of other casinos, it is not their business where he works, where I work, where anyone works, or doesn't work.

The issue here is Net Club's level of service, or lack thereof.

One think you need to know, there are a good many online casinos that are sleazy. There are over 1800 online casinos and many, many of them are ery questionable. You will do well to stick with the recommendations you receive on this board (by the way the above are all casinos i recommend).

Anyway, please...enough about me. Seriously. Let's get back to talking about online casinos. We are not here to talk about people but about winning at online casinos.

hi Freddy,

This was my second experience actually with online casinos but i've played in lots of real casinos anyway. Hope that this experience lasts because i don't like losing money.

As to you Hit Mob who the hell think you are?
I'm a technician and have nothing to hide, it's not my fault if a bloody guy signed after me and flattered this casino. I'm going to continue posting messages on this board, at least until i continue playing in these online casinos and i don't want anyone to harass me.

There is no such thing as a "solid" online casino. Playing at any online casino is risky. I'm not saying you shouldn't play at online casinos, but you always assume some risk when you play at any online casinos.
