Perhaps a better focus would be on poker strategy in general (?). There are no magic bullets. Most books that purport to focus on "online/internet" tend to be on the basic side, geared to those who have never played online. The "tips" that you pick up regarding playing on the internet are going to be less aluable to you in the end than grasping some deeper concepts that you can use in all games, live or otherwise.
That being said here are some:
What No One Else is Saying about Online Poker by Carl Varrone
Killer Poker Online by John Vorhaus
Online Ace, by Scott Fischman
Online Poker by Doyle Brunson
Internet Poker by Krieger and Watterson
Internet Texas Hold’em by Matt Hilger

So little use for internet now, I shall be retiring from both Poker and cardschat for the summer. And maybe next year when I return the internet will be a little more "user-friendly" to us New Zealanders.

From doing well at your friends house to internet poker is about like comparing apples to oranges.
Real poker and internet poker are two sides of the same chip. If you are a good, or great reader of people, live is your avenue. Expecially if you can prevent good reads on yourself. Internet poker is different in that you get no physical reads, and the betting pattern reads are obscure at best. However, the fundamentals of the game remain the same. In this case the fundamentals of the game include the most advanced moves short of reading a pulsing cartoid, heavy breathing, or sweat dripping down a brow.
Still, if you truely have the bug, then internet poker offers all those things which will satisfy the itch. Reads can be made in whether a player is a total noob, or has a clue, and often, how many clues a player has.
It does take some getting used to. Did for me anyway.

It is disappointing that online gamblers don’t have many options or any legal recourse if they suspect cheating. The reality is that with the prohibition of Internet gambling in the US, we have to rely gambling operators to respond to complaints and look out for the interests of their customers.

It wasn't for funding poker sites. They were specifically busted for funding sports betting sites. This is, and has been for a very long time, a major violation of the US wire act.
It would seem to me that if an ewallet wants to capture the US market they just cannot fund sites that offer sports betting. Historically, all arrests made by the US Department of Justice in relation to internet gambling have been based on sports betting. I believe that US courts have even upheld the notion that there is nothing illegal about internet poker.
If I were outside the US right now, I would be scrambling to set up a company that would deal with funding poker sites only. With an eye toward all other legal internet financial transactions, of course. Gotta think big right.

I would get "Internet Texas Holdem" if you are a limit player. Written by Matthew Hilger, it's a very good book from beginner to advanced.
The Sklansky's Poker is old, published in 1989. I have heard people not liking Winning Low Limit Holdem. I know nothing about Caro's book.
For NL the Sklansky book is the one to get right?
If you have SOME poker sense, you can take what is said in "Internet Texas Holdem" and apply what it says to NL games. I would pass on the Sklansky book though... published in 1989 it is just WAY outdated since back then there was no such thing as internet poker. I believe Sklansky updated the book and it's called Poker 2 or something along those lines, but the one PokerNOW is offering is the old version. | | Static Link |

Are we talking internet poker here or real poker? I always think its much harder on the internet because you don't get such a good read of your opponents.
It can be good to bluff boards with an ace on but remember the people likely to have called to see the flop are those likely to have high cards like aces.
Only other advice I can give is to know when your bluff has gone wrong. If you get raised you can often feel like there's too much in the pot for you to throw away but if you haven't got anything its best to lay your cards down. If you just try to bluff more you can get yourself into a lot of trouble.

Unclear U.S. gambling law. Justice Dept. says gambling on internet poker/casinos/sports betting etc. is illegal under the Wire Act, which makes it illegal for anyone in the U.S. to place a wager using a phone line.
What exactly the internet is, blurs the lines of that law. There have only been a few cases where the Justice Dept. has enforced this so far. I believe they also involved not paying taxes on winnings. Naught, Naughty, that's how Al Capone got taken down.
North Dakota I believe is trying to become the first state in the U.S. to officially license/sanction internet poker rooms and casinos. Not sure if it passed their legislature (hey NoDak or SoDak whores, what's up on this?). If it does, it will stir up a MAJOR hornet's nest. Anyways, I'm getting Super System 2 from Inter Poker, so no need for SS1 since I heard it's nearly identical in the Hold Em section.
I plan on getting Both Harrington on Hold Em Books (Full Tilt Poker store just added them) Heard they are great for Tournament Play.
But after that I'm not quite sure, I was thinking maybe a Sklansky book (but there are quite a few, so which one?)
Also has anyone read Internet Texas Hold'em: Winning Strategies of an Internet Pro by Mathew Hilger? I saw good things said about his book, problem was it was on a forum where he posted at so there may be bias.
