Stanley Leisure Organisation bought 2 on-line offshore Internet casino for $12.8 million. Acropoliscasinos.com and Avaloncasinos.com are expected to spearhead an e-commerce gaming and betting strategy which will take their Crockfords casino in England to the Internet. Crockfords will be the first Internet casino in the U.K. The 2 sites purchased will only have a high limit of $1,000 but that is expected to change when Crockfords opens on the Internet in about 3 months.

Offi,

"Hope this helps?" Are you kidding? That was great information! I really appreciate it.

Here is the link for the Atlantis Casino I was talking about: http://www.casino-atlantis.com

You are right. Cyber Casino is no more.

What's the deal with Casino Seychelles? Could you explain a little further.

I noticed that you listed Internet Opportunity/Sportingbet as the owners/affiliates of several sites on the list I presented. Does Sportingbet own these sites? On Sportingbet's site, they list that they own Sportingbet, SportingbetUSA, Players Only, Sportsbook.com, & Wall Street.com Casino & Sportsbook. If they do own Internet Opportunity, what other sited does Internet Opportunity own besides the ones you mentioned?

And finally, what other World Gaming sites do you think are safe and reputable? Which ones would you avoid?

Once again, thanks for your answers.

Because your jurisdiction prohibits online gambling, your age is irrelevant. You can be 2, 20, or 200 and it would make no difference.

No, Got2Bet I strongly disagree with you on this one. It is a fact that most jurisdictions officially prohibit internet gaming. They don't do it to protect their citizens but to protect country/state gambling monopolies.

With this same argument internet casinos can only accept players from jurisdictions where internet gambling is legal - which are a handful (including the UK). In fact, if my memory serves me right there was a casino which tried to follow this policy (it was bossmedia powered - if i'm not mistaken casino atlantis..it was tied to a US Vegas group) and it ended up closing its doors due to lack of business

And the internet casinos do not limit themselves to promoting their casino in legal jurisdictions - they accept players worldwide.

While it's true what the author says about a chargeback not happening in Vegas, he needs to remember that in a brick-and-mortar casino, a player will, 99% of the time, use cash. The Internet casinos choose to accept credit cards as a convenience for themselves and until they come up with a better solution, they'll have to sleep in the bed they've made for themselves.

Regarding the "hold" for an Internet casino, I've no doubt that it's similar, if not larger, than its brick-and-mortar counterpart, yet cyber-casinos don't have to pay comps or slot club cash rebates, little things like dealers, etc. If the profit margin for an Internet casino isn't larger than that of a brick-and-mortar casino, it's because the management team doesn't know what they're doing.

If one Internet casino out there wants most of the business, all it has to do is: A) get their games certified as truly random by a credible third party, B) develop a debit-type card which has the players' funds held in esc...

Boss does a good job of graphics work for making the internet casino a good promotional tool for the land casino.

If you look at the Atlantis "for fun" casino, you'll see that the slot machines are in a room that looks like the interior of physical casino, Atlantis, even to replicating the seat backs for slot players!

Dr. Ho's Boss casino has a Dr. Ho slot machine that has lucky 888's instead of the Western 777's.

The Cryptologic offerings do not theme to this extent, nor does Access. If I were going to use an Internet casino as a marketing and customer relationship tool, I'd make the decision for Boss too.

I personally will not wager at a sight that does not have 24 hour phone support. On the OPA list or not. The online casino industry is 100% unregulated. The OPA just like the IGC and all the others in the past. It is not an online casino governing body. It's a guy with a site that posts casino grievences and will also advertise casinos if you pay him. Let's not make it something it is not. This site has no regulatory internet gaming authority what so ever, no one does. It's an individual with a site that picks an chooses who he wants to put on his internet site. Give me half a day and I can have myself an official sounding casino watch dog site up as well. Like this one and all the others past and precent it would be official in name only.

Mauricio,
Many of my friends in Kenya use internet 'cafes'. That means that they share a computer with others. Has the computer you played on ever been used by someone else? Even if you used a laptop at a wireless hotzone, the casino may have registered your Internet Protocal address as being the same as someone else who has registered and played at the casino.

These are indicators of fraud to a casino.

A $60 offer is an insult. Any time you win big on the internet the casino can always claim there was a program error or malfunction of the software. And there is no way to disprove them. I doubt you will ever see your 100K but the best thing to do is plaster your story all over the internet on every player's board. You may have legitmately(if thats even possible in the break the bank game) won and they just don't want to pay. Cryptologic should step in here and investigate this but I doubt they will. And even if they did they will back up their casino cause its money out of their pocket also.

The Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act

One of the few positive things about The Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act for US players is that jurisdiction in US courts may exist RETORACTIVELY to sue Internet casinos. (New legislation cannot criminalize acts ex post facto, but it can be retroactive in civil disputes.) Since the new law defines that all wagers placed on PC’s in the US, now are wagers placed in the US, then US courts can assert jurisdiction…if they want. If RTG is based in Atlanta, then it becomes easier to collect. If Internet gambling wasn’t illegal previously, then that is good for the player. Generally, if a gambling contract is illegal, it is usually unenforceable in the states, BUT you might invoke the equitable powers of the court to recover wagers placed as unjust enrichment.

Don’t get me started about the Casino Mouseketeer. The double standard that he holds weasels like Cloud/Curran compared to how he criticizes non-casino posters making factuall...

Why would anyone gamble on the Internet? Most of the casino sites do not originate where they say they are from. It seems there are many Canadian gambling sites which claim to operate from the Caribbean but give Canadian area codes. Further, even if they say they are in the Caribbean what's to say they are? These casino sites ask for a lot of personal information from participants but sometimes don't even give you their location. Most of the time I think they use a post box. The individual that runs Grand Gold casino hired a lawyer in St. Kitts to register him a company or two but he lives in Canada. He hired a computer person to design his web sites. Now if he doesn't pay a winner at his casino site, how does one track him down. I just can't understand why anyone would give their credit card on this type of Internet site.

I gamble on the internet because I make money. I played at Golden Palace Casino for more than a year. They would send me promo offers month after month. I played by their rules. They gave a 20% promo on a $10,000 buy-in every month. I would get the $2000 bonus money month after month! They gave me over $20,000 just in bonuses and I may have won some money on top of that.

I would ask why go to a land based casino when an internet casino will give you 10% to 50% bonus on your buy in! Even with a house edge of 5% you will be way ahead. I have never been cheated on line as far as I know. I have always got my buy-in back and my winnings sent to me. I know there is no online gaming commision or regulating body. I have lost before but I win more than I lose.

I know there is a house edge to every single game. I know the casino can cheat the player. I know there is no guarantee that I will win or even get back my deposit, but I also know this month I have $2000 winnings coming to me from Casi...

Everytime you have contact with the casino, and they notify Montana there is usually about a 7 day delay. Once Montana has decided on their findings it can be up to a month for the casino to come through. I know the time frame sucks, but have seen Montana close a casino, by taking it off the internet when a casino disregards the final ruling. Vert strange situation that the casino would offer you a 20% pay off. Most cases are pretty clear cut one way or another.
