Hmmm, how can the WPT lose money? They don't chip into the prize pool. They have production costs, but those aren't going to be excessive. I can't image the commenators get paid enough to break their bank. Surely the travel channel has a long term contract to pay for the shows. I am not sure about Travel channel's ratings for WPT, but compaired to reruns of "famous houses of the South" you would think poker would be good. ESPN still gets better ratings from WSOP than basketball, baseball, hockey etc. - - - so you would think the travel channel is doing fine. So, where is the money going?
