Not sure this counts but 2 years ago PokerRoom had a promo. The 1st 300 people to get a Royal will be entered into a WSOP satellite. Winner gets a free ticket to WSOP.

AS you can imagine at Pokerroom that took a while. I got my Royal (won $18 on a 2/4 table) and waited for 2 months.

the beauty is that just because you get a Royal does not mean you are good. And of the 300 people only 100 showed up.

got to the final table but went all in on the wrong side of a boat!

The guy that beat me went to WSOP and (just like I would have) had a short tournament.
