Get way up on a poker table and start seeing way more flops than we noramally do. We try to get back to even by betting more. If you are on a skid and raise the bet the skid will continue you are now just losing it faster*. We've all done it. I've lost 6 deposits in casinos because i lost my discipline. YES I HAVE LOST. See it's not hard to admit.
You did one thing right in your post. After it happened you realized what had happened. First step of "re-hab" admitting the problem. You lost your discipline.
Discipline is needed and MUST be followed for the whoring effort to work. Otherwise you are the same as the casual punters that Vegas thrives on. The guys that come in and say I am willing to lose this much. Me, I say, I ain't losing shit. I am here to win.
There is an easy way to end the "stupids" and get back on track. When you start to play another casino and you get behind. The temptation will rear its ugly head again. To stop that idea just remember how bad you feel about yourself (and your bankroll) right now. This should cure your temptation to "try to get back to even". It never works and the casinos love you for it. |
