I like to generally play in pounds becuase the games are a lot softer( even though i amfrom us) so yes it is a valid question....

it really does matter!! be aware of this:

on $ tables max rake is 3USD.
but on pounds tables max rake is 3 pounds. and that is OVER 5 USD!!!
hard to beat that rake.

another example: poker sites are taking me around 10.000$ in rake per month. if i would be playing with pounds that would be 17.400/m.
that would be 88.800$ lost in rake per year.

think twice before sitting on other than $ table would be my advise.

Yes, but if your win at 2bb/100 hands those BBs are rated in GBP, not $ so it all balances out. I look at it this way when I play at the crypto sites. I can play a 1/2 NL GBP game against the standard crappy 1/2NL player, but play them for 2/4NL stakes. How is this NOT a +EV decision for me?

ur right, nothing wrong with your play there. but take it from the average whore's site:
- he plays only required number of hands to get his bonus
- he plays at lowest possible table to get those hands
- his primary goal is to get bonus and run away to the other site.
- that's why he plays in a way 'not to lose', but not in a way to win. - there is a big difference in those types of play.

so i would say, his goal is to get out as soon as possible and with the smallest risk involved. and high rake is another big thread for him.
besides pound in rake is equal to dollar in rake for him as his main goal is bonus (it gives just one point = it gives you the same, but it costs you almost twice).

however, for you it might be the same at those levels and i guess your primary goal is not bonus there (and it shouldn't be if you're so successful). but again, this is working only if players are much worse there so they're giving you more than you lose there.

also at higher tables rake is almost always 3 (in pounds that would be over 5$).
so table 10/20 in pounds is not equal to 20/40 in dollars as they take you 71% more. if there would be the same players, it would be really stupid to play there. no science here - the only way to overcome this huge rake are worse players.

not to mention the rake structure is the worst just here - at cryptos.

at conclusion we come together - if there are worse players and you're making more on pound tables then you definitelly should play there. and play there a lot. but if you're just bonus whoring or you're just an average player, then you should try to avoid higher risk for your bankroll.

my situation is close to yours - i don't play at the lowest structure sites like stars or party all the time. in fact i'm making more profit right at those not so invitable rake structure sites. sorry for my bad english.
