I think if I had the bankroll to play 1/2 GBP, and I was looking to do some monthly whoring, I would play $2/$4 unless there was an especially juicy 1/2GBP game calling my name.

I agree, it does seem weird to pass on juicy games just because of .8% or so difference in rake that you only pay once every 20 minutes or so. Best case would be Cryptofixing their rake...but people who have tried to explain this to them have met a horrid fate of peeling their own skin off in frustration.
