I'm as happy as anyone to get this bonus, but Empire is losing their shirt on it.

Claiming the rake covers the bonus sets aside the fact that the player receiving bonus is only one person out of ten at the table. That player is only contributing 1/10th of the table rake if that.

Presuming a .50 rake, it means for that player Empire is paying out .20/raked hand and receiving .05 for a net loss of .15/raked hand. Multiply by a million hands or so, and it adds up.

Probably this is why Party moved back to 10 raked hands for $1 bonus, as it is more sustainable.
