I like my current job (for the most part) and whoring has become some nice supplimental income. I am 32 with a wife who works part-time and 3 and a half year old daughter, so my income needs are pretty high. I have done the math and could probably do this full time if I really wanted too. I have a couple of resons for not going down this path.
1) I enjoy playing. I want to keep it this way. 40-60 hours a week wiil burn me out. 10-15 hours a week provides a nice recreational pace for me, as well as the time to refine and working on being better.
2) It is good supplimental income. With what I make in my regular job, I can pay all the bills and save for retirement. My whoring money allows for travel, home luxuries, or whatever else we would want, but not otherwise be able to afford.
3) Social interaction. No one mentioned this, but being at work allows me to be around people I consider friends and probably wouldn't see too much if I plyed online most of the time.
4) Security. While I may be able to make just enough playing full-time, the gov't issue, poker popularity and other concerns would constantly be haunting me.
This is just one whores take. Certainly for those doing this for a living, I would never criticize you. You are making a good living doing something you love. In the end, that's all that matters. I am just giving my feelings on the subject. I am one of the few that actually somewhat enjoys going to work each day. This obviously helps. If I absolutely hated my job, my views might be different.
