Forum: Bonus Whores | If it's rigged, I hope they keep it that way. 2 weeks ago I had my best run ever and went up 150 BB in 700 hands at the 1/2 tables. I could do no wrong. Attempted to steal the big blind with suited crap, but got called. Fired once more on the flop. After that, I called down with pot odds in my favor and made the runner runner flush to crack his pocket aces. In contrast, I played live this weekend and lost about 24 BB ($190) in about 200 hands. My aces got run down by a runner runner flush. He had no hand and no draw on the flop, but he called my bets all the way. He didn't even bet or raise when he hit the flush (I love it). My KK lost to a flopped set, but I should've saved $20 on that hand. Felt like I couldn't do anything right. In 6 or 7 hours, I won 3 hands. It happens. Of course, I feel like I played badly on some hands due to frustration.
In a way, I think I deal with bad beats better online since I get so many more hands/hr. I get more bad beats, but a 200 hand drought live lasts several hours compared to about 50 minutes or so online. I get frustrated when I get second best hands constantly but the frustration doesn't last as long when the hands come quicker.
Even so, I agree that I see 8-10 times more big hands online than live. Of course, I'm getting 240 hands/hr online vs. 25-30 live. For those who think online is rigged, go to a B&M with shufflers and see how many people think they are rigged too. This weekend, our dealer told us that the shufflers seem to result in more flushes than normal. (Of course, there are more flushes...and more straights and boats and quads and......more hands/hr.)
