- You do see a lot more hands per hour than a live game - I play 4 tables at once, and I should (statistically) see pocket Aces, Kings, Queens, Jacks, etc. at least once every hour. (Playing ~220 hands/hr, taking into account table shifting, etc)
- Players at Party are far more fishy than other sites. You have to anticipate significantly larger variance there than elsewhere, since the really bad players will often call you down with absolute crap, not knowing they don't have the odds to call. Hence, you get crazy up and down sessions. The difference between a 35% VP$IP player and a 60% VP$IP player (both loose) is quite significant post-flop when it comes to putting them on a hand.
- In relation to the above, I think quite a few players here that are self-proclaimed winners at other sites that can't win at Party are making a big mistake: They aren't adapting their game properly. The game style that wins at PokerStars or UltimateBet, for instance, is likely a loser at Party. You have to play differently against players who won't let go of their hands than you do against players who will respect your bets/raises.
- Not playing your best. It happens. You're hammering out a bonus with a short time frame with a bunch of other players all at the same time. Your "A" game goes the wayside in the grind of clearing the bonus. I've been suspectible to this many times myself - starting a session strong and then fizzling as a couple of hours have passed. (Playing tired fits in here too - something I do too often.)
- Tilt. Simple. When you get sucked out in a huge pot by absolutely hideous hands, you can't help yourself. I have a rule: the moment I think "I can't win, these fish play complete crap and get lucky!" after I lose a big hand to a bad beat or horrendous play by my opponents (guys flopping a boat and never raising - even closing the action on my final bet on the river instead of raising); I force myself to step away for 10 minutes. If after 10 minutes I haven't refocused, I quit for the night. That rule alone has saved me a lot of money long term, too bad it took me nearly 9 months to learn.
