I learned this here.
Sometimes on a contributed site, you can rack up so many "contributed" hands playing stud, the bonus is quite good. I'm thinking of Bodog which if you play Stud has maybe the best bonus in the business. They are a strict on bonus whores, it seems, so don't make a withdrawal and immediately make a redeposit. Also Bodog is a bit looser than many other sites I've played at. I've heard that the Gaming/betting sites will get in some poker players who just want to gamble it up a bit.
Otherwise, a contributed hand is not TWICE as slow for me. Reckon to play say 20-30% of hands preflop. So it's more like 1/3rd to 1/5th. And even then if it's holdem, it's not unusual to have everyone fold preflop or on the flop.
The best game, imo, to rack up points in contributed hands is a loose 7 card stud hi low. You have players staying in for both high and low. Sometimes the pot gets pumped up when a player has a lock on one side. And even if you folded, your ante gets you counted as contributing to this pot. |
