Looking at this problem in terms of contract law, there is a contract between two parties. Party A (Poker Plex) has made an offer to give Party B (Bonus Whore) $50 after Party B has played 250 raked hands. Party B impliedly accepts the offer by beginning to play the raked hands.

However, Party A makes a mistake and pays out the $50 promised after fewer than 250 raked hands have been played by Party B. Party B has no right to the money as they have failed to give any consideration (playing the 250 raked hands for the money) and thus no contract can exist, and Party A has every right to ask for Party B to either perform their part of the deal or seek to recover the money already paid. Furthermore, if there was indeed a valid contract between the parties, it would be quite possibly be void for mistake and rescinded.
