there is nothing ridiculous about being suspicious when risking money in a dubious online gaming field--there have been issues many times before and I expect more into the future
I was just thinking about your previous response before this one when I read this. I'm sorry, but the statement "there have been issues many times before and I expect more into the future" is just plain ridiculous. Poker sites are NOT casino sites, and I defy you to quote ONE evidenced case of a poker site being rigged (apart from the presence of bots on some sites, which is hardly 'rigging'). For the record, I have over 4 million hands in my database and guess what, almost every starting hand comes out somewhere around standard deviation. Guess what else, I win about 11% of all hands dealt - imagine that. Guess what, AA REALLY is 70% against the field. Guess what else, an ace REALLY does hit a the flop about 28% of the time.
B2B is no different, and these sorts of suggestions that B2B is rigged is what is suspicious. Either those complaining have sour grapes over their poor play decision (I recommend a new hobby) or worse, they are actively trying to discredit B2B because they have ulterior motives.
Not profitable somewhere? Guess what: an executive from Party Poker told an interviewer at a recent convention that only SEVEN percent of all poker players on its site were net winners. That's right SEVEN PERCENT!!! (And why would he lie? Surely if anything Party Poker would want to embellish the number of winners so more people would sign up for accounts). That means that 93% are losing money - the real question that one needs to ask oneself is: "Am I one of those seven percent?" or more appropriately, "Am I just marginally one of those seven percent?"
What is essentially being talked about in this thread are the same old, tired BAD BEAT stories I've been listening to for the last 16 years of my poker career. EVERYONE takes bad beats. Why one month in 2005, I had AA cracked 37 times in 2 weeks on the 30/60 game at Party, and what was worse 31 of them were AHEAD UNTIL THE RIVER (see if you can guess how much THAT cost me) - does that mean that Party is rigged? Does that mean that it's "in black-and-white in front of me"? Obviously not. I'm sorry but the "Something tells me it isn't on the up and up" standard doesn't pass for shit.
I do beat the games at B2B and I see plenty of whining on the site as well as here. I'm sorry but there is plenty ridiculous with suspecting that poker sites are rigged - principally because POKER SITES HAVE NO REASON TO DO THIS IN THE FIRST PLACE. If anything, they are risking their profit and marketshare if it were ever leaked out by one of their techies that they were rigging the cards. Frankly, with all the bad play I've seen at poker sites (INCLUDING B2B) I can't even for the life of me figure out why a poker site would even bother to rig a site "for action" as has been claimed. I watch people go bust chasing down and calling down nothing all day long, every day of the week - no need to rig anything - only 7% of the players are winners to begin with - who do you think pays the rake? - LOSERS.
