Having moderated a heated session between Betfair and the ARB and its supporters at a conference in Australia last year, I can only express my opinion that the ACCC is undertaking its investigation with good reason, as it is eminently clear that the ARB has taken ery hardline tactics in its objections to Betfair being granted a license.
My personal iew after that session is that Betfair should be treated like every other bookmaker in Australia if they are willing to pay the same taxes (and they are), on the obvious condition that they must then adhere to the same standards and restrictions imposed on other bookmakers.
