Let me respond in backwards order LOL.

Spear, I thought your response made sense.
I was not critizing the quality of your work, just its inherent nature. To justify what you do by pointing out you only recommend "good" casinos is missing the big picture but I too see where you're coming from. All I'm saying is that I don't think encouraging people to participate in behaviour which in the end will prove detrimental to them is something that is IMO moral. I see it as lining up ducks to get shot down so profiting from this activity is not something I could live with. This is just my opinion, it is worth every penny you paid for it.

One of the things commonly misunderstood is that gambling sites attract the general public - they do not. Gamblers will go looking for gambling sites, just as beer drinkers will go looking for site about beers. We do not necessarily encourage people to play - we provide recommendations if they should so choose, and they again are not forced to follow recommendations. Furthermore, if you have followed my writings, you will see that I espouse careful study before gambling - rather than encouraging them to just "Go for it!".

I haven't missed the picture at all - I just see it from a different point of iew.

By the way, I think if you look at it a second time, selling a book guarantees profits up FRONT from a gambler - regardless of whether they win or lose. A website provides the information free of charge - and in some cases should the gambler lose, the website gets a commission - but if the gambler breaks even or wins, the website gets nothing.

From that perspective, an author has much more to gain from gambling than a website operator, because he gets paid no matter what. Again, I say this because not all sites are the same - my statistics this month show that I will make ZERO - that's right, ZERO - profit from affiliates because overall those who have signed up through clicking on my banners have WON.

I am happy to see this. I am not happy at having to defend myself if I should make money sometimes. The more people WIN, the more they trust the recommendations I make - heaven forbid I should switch to a black hat and start scamming them LOL.

Because these people keep coming back to my site, it obviously attracts advertisers, as with any other site on the Net. Then it is no different than me promoting a product - and on my site a casino must qualify before it is allowed to advertise.

I hope you will understand that there is no intent to be anything other than a source of information.

Lining up ducks is something an unscrupulous operator would do - through spam, misleading marketing, etc. There are many places like that on the Net - I hope that mine will one day stand out like a beacon to those looking for useful information.

I know gamblers don't like to hear that in the end they will lose all the money they gamble with but it is the harsh truth for the great majority. I too have a BIG problem with the industry's Disneyland self image. Gambling destroys thousands of lives every year(day?), it is especially destructive because it prays on the poor's dreams of instant riches. What Bill states about a small portion of a casino's clientele accounting for the majority of profits is accurate. People are gambling at an increasingly early age and many are ruining their life before it has trully begun.

Drinking destroys probably 100x more lives than gambling. This is a ery poor assertation to make when pointing out the risk of gambling. Your other points are generalizations which IMO greatly exaggerate the risk involved and the harm cause by gambling.

Bill's figures are also for land-based casinos - you cannot possibly draw a direct comparison because the studies he quotes are heavily, heavily weighted towards Americans who make a trip with the intention of gambling. With online gambling there are plenty of opportunities where you risk not one cent! There are bonuses which you would never find at a land-based casino. And so on...

In short, there are so many differences between land-based gambling and online gambling that it is like comparing cricket to baseball.

They are two different games. My opinion is worth little more than yours - about two cents
