1. What you're really talking about is localization. If you're going to market to Asians, you've got to have Chinese software and a Chinese website, and Chinese support, period. You can't have one or even two of the three and expect to be perceived as a truly focused, professional operator.
On the www.drholite.com software, as I've said before in other threads, we offer both Cantonese and Mandarin ersions of the software as well as the translated web sites. In terms of customer support, we offer Chinese email support, but we don't have the traffic right now to warrant setting up a call center to handle Chinese telephone support (these call centers are more expensive than words can explain to set up and operate, and the olume of calls -- notwithstanding what you read on these message boards -- is not as high as you'd think). As soon as www.drho888.com is stabilized from a technical point of iew, we'll localize the sites and Flash software the same way, and the same people will be providing Chinese email support for both products.
We also in the last month revamped our customer support. When we receive a Chinese email, we respond in writing (in Chinese of course) and then we also have someone in the corporate head office who speaks Mandarin or Cantonese call the person as well. Ultimately -- in response to HK Gambler -- we will set up a call center in those languages, and have already sent out an RFP to several call center companies.
The next step in globablization -- beyond the stuff I've mentioned above, which is a given -- will be to offer play in multiple Asian currencies, since many players hate receiving U.S. dollar checks, and being hit on their credit card statements for expensive currency exchange rates.
2. We've moved away from straight banner ad deals into almost exclusively revenue share (not CPA, but affiliate revenue share deals) especially in non-Asian markets because the returns are so low. I can still generate thousands of clicks, but if people aren't paying (oops, I meant to say playing!) the campaign will obviously not be repeated.
The trick, I think, is to work with some of the bigger portal operators, and spend the time on the phone to share the confidential data that might make them more comfortable on an affiliate program. We would never post our conversion rates, average monthly deposits, and hold rates on our web site, but we would share that with people who would be good marketing partners.
Speaking of which -- thank you to those people who have emailed me with marketing/affiliate ideas. I have called or immediately emailed anyone who contacted me at casinomanager@drho888.com, and anyone else who wants to reach me will get the same speedy response.
