Since Starnet is being discussed, let me offer one of my Starnet stories. First let me say, that in general, I’m a big fan of Starnet sites and Starnet software. I’ve had few problems with Starnet sites, but I’ve been burnt enough to know there are a number of nefarious Starnet sites. Grand Palace is an example.
This incident occurred last year when Grand Palace sent me the following offer:
Grand Palace Casino appreciates your business so much that you will have a choice of 2 bonuses! We will credit your account 100% of your NEXT deposit up to $70 or if you like, deposit more than $100 and receive 30% of your deposit, to a maximum of $300 free! We will credit your account with your bonus one business day after your deposit has been wagered in full.
Note that the requirements were that I needed to wager 1 x D before the bonus would be added, additional wagering would be required after the bonus is received. I made my $1000 deposit, and wagered 3.7 times my deposit (I lost). I then Emailed and requested the $300 bonus.
No answer. I emailed a few days later. Their reply:
We at Grand Palace Casino want to be fair when receiving your bonus. You
must wager your original deposit to receive your bonus and when you want to
cash out with your bonus, you must wager your deposit and bonus COMBINED 6x.
We are having some technical difficulties with our comps software, please be
patient receiving your bonus. ( every player always gets there bonus, when
the conditions are met )
Sincerely,
Jessica Smith
Player Relations.
I waited. No bonus. I emailed, no bonus. I guess they were still having technical difficulties with their “Comp Software”; whatever that is, LOL!
Finally they sent an Email saying they had discontinued their bonus program or some such nonsense. By that point I worked my balance up to a small win, so I just cashed out. It was apparent they had no intention of honoring their promotion and giving me the bonus that I had earned.
Starnet/World Gaming sites are good when it comes to payment issues, but the individual owners are responsible for promotions. Consequently, the honoring of promotions is ery arbitrary. There is a decent chance you will get screwed when playing a promotion at a Starnet site so be careful.
