I'll step up to the Video Poker question...

Boss Media's ideo poker isn't the best, because it doesn't have exlempary paytables and it has teeny weeny cards and teeny weeny buttons so it is physically difficult to play.

Cryptologic's ideo poker also has teeny weeny cards and teeny weeny buttons, but it also has a 99.9% return game and a great reputation for honesty (except for those stupid handcuff bonuses, but most recreational players don't mind them)

Microgaming has the best ideo poker interface, and has multi-play ideo poker, which is addictive; but is in iolation of international intellectual property rights of IGT and Action Gaming. Paytables are average.

Boss, as a publically traded company with connections in the land industry, would not want to get into a court fight with IGT!

Realtime Gaming also has excellent Video Poker interface, and some of the RTG sites used to offer 100% games. They got hit by good players and accused them of robot play--a good ideo poker player can play up to 1000 hands an hour! RTG was losing money, but it isn't cheating for a casino to lose money to a player--unless the player is using a robot. Hence, the robot accusation in order to avoid paying.

RTG also offers "Pickem Poker", again, a patent iolation. Their software has many patent iolations, and as they are based in the US, it's only a matter of time before they are sued.

I don't play at any "Video Poker Classic" sites after going unpaid a long time ago. They are also in iolation of IGT and Action Gaming's patents.

So, the decision for the casino is:

*Do we offer a ideo poker game with 100+% return (good for advertising) but do something to the interface to slow down the play (teeny buttons, slow speed, electric shock through keyboard) to make it unattractive to skilled p players?

*Do we offer a game with fast and comfortable interface, but less than 100% payback?

I think one solution is to offer a progressive--then if the alue of the progressive goes over 100%, that's not out of the casino's pocket quite so much.

Another solution would be to invent a new ideo poker that attracts players for the novelty. Or perhaps another ideo card game? Shuffle Master had a ideo game based on Mah Jongg tiles that didn't do well in the US.

What card games are popular for the Asian community that might translate well into a ideo gambling game?
