King: I think those who haven't isited land casinos much, but who have read a lot of books, tend to think card counting is gonna be more of a "sure winner" on land than it actually is.

From what I've read, the golden age when well organised teams would win heaps is over cos casinos have taken counteractive measures. Son thought he was gonna make a fortune (at weekends) when the casino came to town, so mastered card counting with all the permutations, being mathematical, disciplined, good at music so has trained sequential memory which made it easy etc, but he found it hard to win cos he wasn't ery lucky at blackjack, despite being a BS purist. Admittedly he had busy job and . limited resources having just completed university not long before. He also trained as a dealer and worked briefly at weekends because he wanted to see it from the other side. In his time dealing, he seldom had winners at his table. He now sticks to land craps at which he wins mainly.

Re baccarat: I know from dealers and other VIP players that there are at least two regular baccarat players who have won a lot of money over the 6 years; I do not know them personally as they play upstairs, so I'm unable to quiz them on their approach. I am nosy and have asked hundreds of players all sorts of questions over the years at my land casino; at least 98% of those I have talked to, would be losers overall. Of the main floor baccarat players I know, some regularly win big and lose big (hundreds of thousands$$$) but those I know who have won a reasonable amount have banned themselves immediately after a winning streak. I have never met a card counting baccarat player. Trouble with the game is that it's seductively easy to win big and just as easy to lose - seems to depend on luck with big bets. Nothing like winning a $500 - $1000 bet, but I've only ever won one at a time! I myself have won $1000+ on $10-$20 several times, which I've never been able to do at any other table game or slots. Some players catch the long runs; win heaps, but if they don't lose it the next day, they inevitably do the next week or month LOL! I've given up baccarat/land casino for at least the rest of this year - maybe forever! I'm better to stick to where I can win and keep it sometimes, which is online.

Last month I learned my local is often forewarned of known overseas cardcounters headed there, so they can be kept under stricter surveillance right from time they enter the casino. I'm surprised, it being a small country so far away. I also didn't realise that surveillance teams are expert in table games, having got them muddled with security personnel.
