- inetbet has told me they use 6 decks while sci-fi has told me they use 9 decks, so obviously, the decks can be set

my initial question was:

given the added number of ways to win (40:1, 3:1) should I expect to lose more hands than I would lose playing basic blackjack? at Inetbet and sci-fi, I played this matchplay 21 game and got the same results I would expect from basic blackjack, but at blast21, I consistently lost a larger number of hands than would be expected of basic blackjack.

I figured that's how the doubling worked - just wish the rules would say so.
I know they can set the number of decks, just wish they would put it in writing how many they chose to use. I've gotten different numbers from different CSR's on the same day in the past. Didn't know they could go to 9 decks though. Wonder what highest is. Maybe they could do an infinite deck if they wanted.
Back to your initial question. I think you should compare it to Spanish 21 at the Wiz, as Mary suggested, since it is so similar. The Wiz gives a H17 Spanish 21 a HA of 0.76%. And there the bonus hands are allowed after splitting, except Match21, as I said before. Not the case with RTG. Also, as I said before Match21 gets 200-1 on $5 & $25 bets, not 40 to 1. All of which would make it worse than 0.76%. So my guess is you would get more losses since the HA is higher than regular BJ. And of course there's a ton of changes to normal BS. Given the relative infrequency of the bonus hands, I'd think you'd get more losses because you need the bonus hands pay-offs to get the HA. In other words, I'd expect a roller coast ride. Can't see any reason why the losses would be different from casino to casino, except maybe # of decks. Same rules - same results.

Were you using Spanish21 BS?

If you kept track of your number of losses in this game and your regular BJ games, you'd probably know the answer to your own question. Do you know how many losses you actually experienced over the 3000 hands?

If you want to try a new game check out the Wiz's article on RTG's Pontoon game. He says it's only a 0.17% HA. Pretty wild BS when you hit a 17 and double (4 card) 16's!
Might try it in fun mode for a while.

All this just my opinion from reading the rules. Don't know anything. Maybe you'll get some other opinions.
