Bonuslover, I'm afraid you're wrong there. Pai Gow Poker does not in the slightest resemble Pai Gow tiles. The name is a total misnomer.

In Pai Gow, your object is to play two pairs of tiles and make nines or special pairs. The only resemblance to Pai Gow Poker (2,5) is that you play front hand against front hand, back hand against back hand - and of course the same could be said about Chinese Poker, where you are playing hands of 3,5,5.

This is the only common trait the three games share. After that, Pai Gow Poker and Chinese Poker are much more closely related.
