I think in the previous progressive networks the rng was within the individual machine along with all the game processing, and the network only carries game result and accounting information to the progressive server.
Prior art outside of the gambling industry could weaken this patent, I think, in terms of networked ideo games like flight simulators.
I couldn't find a European patent database that gives full patent text on my last Google excursion.
