We could have made our life easy and exclude these games altogether. However, this would unjustifiably punish those gamblers who play exclusively Craps and Roulette. It does cost us more to be selective, but we think it's worth it.
2. From Swin: What's the biggest challenges for CON for 2003? – There are a few equally big challenges. One of them, for example, is the legislation proposed in the US Congress that will affect the players ability to play and may make our US market smaller. Another big challenge was our move from Antigua to EU, which is mostly accomplished.
3. From Caruso: Glad to see you back, Vahe - I thought there'd been big management changes at CON, including the ousting of your good self. – Thanks. Actually, there were not that many changes. I did move within the company and currently oversee gaming and industry relations for Cassava, whatever that means ;-)
4. From Caruso: Why did you close my account... – Before I comment, I need to take a look at your account. Please send your details to manager@casino-on-net.com. Make sure to mark your email to my attention, as I am not the manager anymore.
5. From Caruso: CON has got far too big for its boots... – I assume you are referring to the Business 2.0 article. We are a private company and the amounts quoted by journalists are simply guesstimates. But even if we made $1 a year, it still would be because of your PLAYERS, and we never take them for granted. Send me an example of treatment "with such blatant disrespect and arrogance." I will investigate and will make sure that those responsible are punished.
6. From Caruso: I frequently praised CON in the past and did not expect this disrespectful treatment. I will certainly do so no longer, be assured. – If we did treat you with disrespect, I agree that we do not deserve your praise. As I requested above, give me an opportunity to investigate.
7. From Zrapture: You guys should really look into a system... – We do not "boot otherwise honest players who won too much playing (y)our generous promotions." What we do is this – rather than changing our promotions, we simply close accounts of those who don't know a good thing when they see it. Again, this has nothing to do with winning or losing. It has to do with how much action you give to the casino. If you play just enough to satisfy the WR, I don't think we should subsidize you at the expense of those who really gamble. What many players miss is that we will give the bonuses anyway. And we want to give them to the real gamblers and not to the freeloaders. It's as simple as that. All these complaints about blocking the winners are silly. We would be out of business in no time had we really done anything close to that.
8. From Joeyl: Everyone who signs up for the first time gets a bonus and that is fair if not profitable short term. – With all respect, this has nothing to do with fairness but everything with marketing and competition. It is fair to play in a safe, secure and impartial environment and to get paid what you won. And it is absolutely satisfying to receive comps for the gaming action you've given to the casino.
9. From Joeyl: After that those who deserve a bonus are whoever you so decide deserves a bonus... – We didn't invent comps and we didn't invent the criteria for their distribution. There are standards in this industry. We may modify them here and there, but in general it is ery straightforward – you give us enough play with your money – win or lose – and we comp you accordingly.
Let's say you are running a restaurant and every week you have a certain amount of free meals to give away. Would you give them to customers who dine at your place everyday and pay for their food or you'd give these meals to someone who comes only for the free meal and is never happy, regardless of how much he ate at your expense?
10. At your casino how many staff will it take to operate a system where a seperation process defining who you do and don't think deserves a bonus can be put in place? – We have and operate a similar system. If you were blocked and you think it was not fair, let me know and I'll look into it. We separate freeloaders from real gamblers – win or lose – and ask the freeloaders to leave. Often we don't even have to block these "players" – it takes a couple of missed bonuses and they are gone looking for a new pasture.
12. From Sirius: Doesn't anyone remember this thread?... – This refers to the Reef Club's opening and the overblown situation with about 7 players being denied their bonuses (only bonuses, and not the money won with these bonuses) because Reef's management decided that they do not want this type of players. At that time, I thought that Reef is making a mistake by being so harsh. Now, when I work on a Cassava level and have access to more info, I see that they were not wrong after all. Reef is doing quite well and because they created this unfriendly reputation among the bonus players, they can afford to be really generous with their members.
Hope I answered all your questions. It's well after midnight here and, if you pardon me, I will read your comments in about 10 hours ;-)
Good luck to you all,
Vahe
There were 36 apparently that were initially denied the bonus for completely no reason. I would like to know how they decided which 7 to remove the bonus from in the end. I now think Erik Shirak (reef club) = Vahe Baloulian (CON). Anyone seen them at the same place at the same time?
