Why slots? Why not...it's all controlled by software -> their software. Whether poker, slots, ideo poker, craps, roulette, or any other casino game online, it's all software and controlled by the code. My effort was to determine if playing online was alid, which I now believe it not to be, but rather a con game disguised as gambling.

As far as probability, an experienced black jack player might be able to project long term payout based on the short run, but I never really liked the game, have little experience, and couldn't make an educated projection.

In relation to random, the play would certainly be based on a random number generator, probably seeded with a random ariable to prevent recognizable patterns. Now, the actual result may be manipulated with code in any manner possible conceived. My bet would be that it checks the end result of a random number selection, and then alters it if it meets criteria not to the casino's profit. I lost the minute I started playing, but I didn't know...then.

What scares me about online gambling, is that they know way too much about your financial position (how much you've deposited, how much you've played, how much you've won, how much lost, how often you've deposited, how fast you play, how often you continue playing a non-winning game, how quick you are to re-deposit, how often you've lost your entire balance, your average deposit, your frequency of play, your preference in games....and with casino 'groups', a combined query of all the databases provides additional information across casinos). A land based casino knows none of that...each machine has it's own processor, and although may be tied to a group of machines, acts independently, and most of all, has no clue who you are or any statistics about you.

It really amazes me. A fair game and people keep playing, but a rip off, will scare away all but the most determined and/or stupid (ok I was stupid not to stop at a couple hundred...I learned the hard way).

I have only lightly tried online multi-player poker...playing against other people, and not a computer. I may go that route, but after this experience, I will never again seriously play online....I can't trust them. There may be honest sites, but until they are regulated, the bad ones will destroy it for those honest few, if any.

Maybe if Nevada or Mississippi (my favorite casino State) licenses and regulates online casinos...but until then...
