Topic: Microgaming sleaze: white label casinos and pornography Forum: Winner Online

Credits go to one of the Casinomeister gang for an efficient and hard-working exposè of some serious sleaze at the highest level: Microgaming.

"White label" casinos are a kind of hybrid affiliate / casino setup, whereby an affiliate site presents itself as a casino, with download links and everything else a casino site has, whilst maintaining normal affiliate status in a monetary sense, earning money on a profit share basis from the main casino. The reason for white labelling is to enable the casino to be marketed in as many different ways as there are white label sites, without their affiliates being limited to the marketing style of the base casino. White labelling is an entirely deceptive practice unless the concept is clearly outlined on the site, which it invariably is not. It also presents a minefield of confusion for the player, who can be misled into creating multiple accounts at the base casino as a result of unwittingly downloading the same software from multiple white label sites, with all the cashout confiscation problems that that will inenevitably entail.

The Virtual Casino group, and Gambling Federation, are all heavy duty specialisers in white labelling; that should give a pretty good idea of the kind of practice this is: fundementally deceptive, unethical and dangerous to the gambling public.

The Microgaming group Playshare - http://www.playshare.com/ - have been offering white label casinos for a currently undetermined period of time. Their partners are listed here:

Take a look at the ninth casino on the list of THIRTY FIVE white label sites, "Casino2See".

Click on the image of the woman in the top right-hand corner, where it says "more 2 see" - you can see it here:

Click on "erotic".

Voilà, a hard-core porn site - sex cams, porn gallery, the works; just below the image of the naked woman which doesn't leave too much to the imagination, the same ad for "Casino2See", which downloads Casino Share, an ostensibly "reputable" Microgaming operation.

There was no announcement from Microgaming that they were going down the sleazy white label route (maybe that's not so surprising); there is no indication at any point that any of these white labels are from Casino Share - the only way of knowing is to physically recognise the software yourself; none of these sites state that they are partners of Casino Share.

Online gambling and pornography have always been associated at some of the lowest levels; now, the association comes from the ery top, from Microgaming.

What an excellent tool in the armoury of the gambling prohibitionists in the US. And maybe, given this development, they have some legitimate cause for concern.
