With all of the back-and-forth postings that have gone on in the past 5 1/2 months relative to my dispute with Crystal Palace, (both here and at CM), I am struck by one simple and brutal fact:

Regardless of the overwhelming sentiment expressed by posters that Crystal Palace is "in the wrong" here, and despite my case being cited as THE WORST player abuse story of 2006 by Mr. Bailey, and even though RTG pulled out of the ICE Show because of their cowardice,,,,,

THEY STILL HAVE MY WINNINGS (and deposits)!

While I am most grateful for the tremendous amount of international support I've received throughout this ordeal (particularly ia this forum), it really opened my eyes to a few stark realities relative to dealing with disputes in an unregulated environment:

1. The "software developers" (i.e. RTG) and their licensees (i.e. Crystal Palace) ALWAYS have an out if they don't want to resolve the dispute. Obviously, since they're not licensed, they simply can refuse to pay - for whatever reason they deem appropriate - however absurd.

2. Most casino "watchdogs" are supported by the online gaming software developers (RTG, Microgaming, Playtech. etc.) so in many ways, they're running a kangaroo court, where they can "convict" a rogue casino, but not follow through with the public pressure to make sure they actually pay the impacted player. Morevoer, they and their disciples, impose ridiculuous etiquette rules upon the PLAYER whereby he/she are called out if they refer to the casino or casino rep in anything less than "respectable terms." This is perhaps the most outrageous discovery I encountered. Imagine in a real court of law if the judge and jury were MORE CONCERNED about the emotional outbursts of the VICTIM than the actual CRIME committed by the CRIMINAL! That's what we have here folks, plain and simple.

3. The "hide in plain sight" approach within the confines of online casino gambling, is alive and well. Crystal Palace and RTG avoid responding to online forums like the plague, they duck out of industry trade shows, abolish mediation forums without warning, YET ..send out COUPON offers by the boat load, tout their "random jackpot" winners, and have many online apologists doing their dirty work for them.

No wonder that Harrah's and MGM-Mirage have poured big bucks into supporting the Frist legislation, as they know that once this sorry industry gets REGULATED (which it most certainly will) they will push aside these scam artists like yesterday's mail.
