Have to disagree with this post - Blackjack is my first love with card games, and I have spent thousands of hours developing an advantage over B&M casinos on this one.

Here in Spain all my local casinos play with two decks, either one being shuffled on every hand to make sure that you are playing with a fresh deck - as this way when playing perfect strategy you are only statistically going to win 49.5% of the hands played - then it is somewhat down to luck whether you come out on top as it is based on how you spread your bets. I therefore DO NOT play blackjack here in spain...

HOWEVER as most USA casinos run a 6 or 8 deck shoe, and only shuffle when you are down to the last 78 cards you can earn UP TO a 53/47 advantage in your favour if you are able to correctly keep track of the cards, whether it be by a points based average or simply counting them (I say simply, it took me about 6 months of daily play to master). My anecdotal evidence to this fact is that I am yet to have a losing trip overall to Vegas, and my missus whom is also a bit of a maths junkie has an equally good record. When we go to egas, I far prefer to play Blackjack than NLHE as once you have worked in the comps you can earn daily it makes the play more than worthwhile....

This brings me back to playing online - I did this at some length before I played poker (infact before I even learnt holdem) and whilst over a 3 month period I grinded out a (tiny) profit, I wouldnt think of it in any way a skill game, as at most sites the cards are dealt at random for each new hand - there are some sites that claim to have "8 deck shoes" BUT there is ery little way of proving or disproving this.

Personally, as a gambling webmaster, I play Blackjack on our site for funmoney, and poker for realmoney... I find it rewarding regardless of whether its real money on the line or not as for me its about being able to beat the averages than accruing profit.
