Online Blackjack is good only for a little fun, don`t put serious money into it.
Live Blackjack is another story. As JD says, if you play optimum strategy and count cards (a simplified system works, and is manageable with practice by anyone with a good head for numbers), you can have a slight edge and be confident of breaking even or winning a little over the course of a long session.
Problem is, the casinos are ery aware that Blackjack is the only game where they aren`t necessarily in the driving seat, and they watch out for and discourage experts. Last time I played live BJ, the dealer spotted within 15 minutes that I was a player and made me aware that she knew. Had I started winning big, I`d probably have been asked to leave.
