Sorry to think you don't think poker is a game of chance. It ABSOLUTELY is a game of chance.
Two things set it appart from other forms of casino gambling
- You push the odds in poker to your advantage in two way. 1) Table selection. The amount of profit you can make will be determined by how good you are relative to the others. If you are the worse player at the table your chances of making money is slight. If you the best player at the table your chances of making money just went up. 2) Hand selection. You can wait until you get good starting hands to play which will increase your odds of winning the hand. Unfortunately one or both of these will not guarantee you a winning night of poker. Luck still will play a part in this as to how the cards fall.
- There is no house edge. The house makes money no matter what in poker either in entry fees for tournaments or the rake in cash games. All they want is full tables and large player pools in tournaments.
