The more players, the tighter you have to be... if you have a lot of weak, passive players, though, then you may have a lot of limpers into a pot, and then you can play more of the speculative hands (e.g. suited connectors) which either hit big or miss completely. In some ways it's possibly worth looking more at how you change the alue of particular holdings post-flop - Top Pair, Top Kicker is less likely to be good enough if there are more people in the pot, as there's a higher chance that a straight, flush, trips or two pair will have hit. Equally, though, good draws may be more worth chasing because you'll have better pot odds for chasing... although you also have a little more need to consider whether you're chasing the nut hand - chasing a straight when the cards you need could make someone else a higher straight, or chasing a weak flush, are more risky with more players.
Hence, while you to some extent may need to play tighter, there are some other hands which may be more worth playing than they'd tend to be shorter-handed, although this depends on how aggressive the opponents are.
