If I'm not mistaken, the primary watchdog for gambling in the state of Nevada is the Nevada Gaming Commission. They're clean as a whistle, and they don't kid around. In Nevada, you play it straight or you don't play at all.

We can only hope for a day when the world of online gambling has such an oversight force. Given the international nature of the game, however, I don't see it happening. There will always be fly-by-nights setting up shop in remote places, away from any jurisdictional accountability.
