VP247 is an Absolute Poker skin. I'm not 100%, but I don't think they are the same company. Everything software-related is the same, but they have many different promotions not available at both sites. Also, we tried a funds transfer from an Absolute Poker account to a VP247 account and it wouldn't work. But you can do one between Absolute Poker and Ultimatebet, so go figure.
