THEY SHOULD BE CALLED ON THIS BY CASINOMEISTER TO CHANGE THEIR TERMS OR BE ROUGED
Please don't take this the wrong way... but...
If Bryan was to rogue EVERY casino that had T&C's that pissed off some players, well, you do the math.
What you are discussing here is a business practice that you DISAGREE with, which is 180 degrees from fraudulent business or deception. The latter should definitely be rogued, the former simply should be avoided.
What I don't understand is this... you clearly understand their rules now. They require a bonus to be attached to EVERY deposit (if I'm reading this right). That attached bonus then requires a play through, which obviously is a disadvantage for a long-term customer. If you don't like this type of relationship, DON'T DEPOSIT THERE.
There are plenty of complaints ongoing, where the issue -might- involve some sort of fraud or deception. Some of those posters are screaming ROGUE THEM! Yet, it has to be investigated first. If found to be leaning towards the player's side, the casino must be given the opportunity to make it good. Several failures at making things good will eventually lead to the Rogue List.
Other complaints are just simply that a player disagrees with a casino's business practice. If this business practice is not concealed or fraudulent in nature, some are still screaming ROGUE THEM! This cannot be done... adding casinos to the rogue list for such things diminishes our consumerism and diminishes the power of this website. The Rogue List should be reserved for the worst of the worst, the thieves. It should be a list that NO reputable casino would want to be added to; it should have real teeth. If casinos iewed the list as 'oh, Bryan adds EVERYONE to that list.. no big deal.' then the list in fact becomes no big deal.
We expect casinos to be proper businesses. If we disagree with a particular business practice or rule, then we should take our money ELSEWHERE, warn others before they plunge in, and that should be the end of it.
Casinos expect us to be proper consumers. If we run around screaming and yelling all of the time, and constantly telling them that they should run their businesses the way WE feel fit, then we all start looking less than credible. We absolutely MUST retain credibility as a community in order to deal with the casinos that are truly thieves. Especially right now.
Take a good look at your post title. You are calling them 'unethical'. That term is synonymous with illegal in most people's minds. In other words, it's a VERY STRONG label or accusation. It might have been more politically correct to have titled it "Beware of bonus terms at Slotsvillage!" or similar. In your situation, you make the claim that a casino employee cleared you to make a deposit WITHOUT incurring a bonus, but then was told by another employee that this is not possible, and that the other employee was misinformed. Is this NOT possible? Because in my eyes, it clearly IS possible. It might be LIKELY that you were tricked, but since it IS possible an employee made an error, you've a long road to establish fraud.
Say for example I call Home Depot and get a price on a new ceiling fan. I am quoted $49.95 for the model I am looking for. The employee on the phone tells me, "but if you wait, that fan is going on sale starting Monday, and will be $39.95" I wait, and on Monday I show up, the fan is listed as $49.95. I inquire with customer service. They inform me the employee was MISTAKEN. The fan was on sale for $39.95 LAST WEEK, and the sale ended Sunday night. I'm angry of course... and talk with the manager. Now it's his call... will he sell me the fan at the sale price based on my word that an employee promised me something? What happens if the manager chooses to not sell me the fan at the sale price? Do I stand out in front of Home Depot with a sign that says "UNETHICAL BUSINESS PRACTICES HERE!"? No. I would look like a lunatic. I just simply do better homework next time.
Sometimes the best thing you can do for yourself is what you do for yourself up front. One thing I didn't get from your chat log... you stated (regarding the first employee) "guy I chatted with said he was making sure I would not receive a deposit bonus and would email me after he accomplished this", yet you never said whether that confirmation email ever came. If it did, it would help us here, and should be submitted to a casino manager for review. I think there's a lot of work to be done here before rushing them to the Rogue list, but I do appreciate the information you have provided and won't be recommending Slotsvillage to anyone.
