Sorry FakeG, but I find this advice slightly amusing. In a way, you are right of course - since you are doing this, and haven't been banned, they are obviously leaving you alone if you play 1 or 2 SnGs...
...but (for Party Poker itself especially) the same would be true if you had chosen not to play any SnGs, and instead you bite the head off a chicken after every bonus you clear and dance naked three times around your computer going "blip" before you withdraw. That would also lead to Party not shutting you down.
My point being, that just because a certain behaviour doesn't get you shut down doesn't mean that not performing it would get you banned.
While it cannot possibly hurt to play an SnG (or 10 hands in a ring game, or whatever) every now and then, I am fairly confident that Party could easily recognize your account as being a "whore account" if they ever decided to take action against bonus players.
Personally I don't cover play at Party, and so far (7+ months of bonuses) I have had no issues. Hrm, well - as jmbfl suggested, I have played a couple of hands per day during a few weeks when I needed to round up Party points. But I think 99% of my hands played there have counted towards a bonus.
Also, I never cover played a single hand at Empire up to the point where they banned people, and still didn't get into trouble at that time. Since then I have played a bit extra after the bonus there, to be on the safe side. Am getting more relaxed about that as time goes by without new reports popping up.
The safer route might be to cover play, but deciding what amount is actually required to stay out of any potential trouble - that is simply playing guessing games since they haven't been shutting anyone down (afaik, except the well known Empire stunt). |
