| Posted by: Iodine at October 7, 2004, 1:14 pm | | Topic: Playing Shorthanded Forum: Bonus Whores | pretty much as a rule, ill only raise with pairs less than 77 or 88 if i want to clear out the field behind me who will likely fold to the raise. also, ill usually see a flop with any pair if i am pretty sure i can get in for a single bet. if you suspect someone will raise after you call, then just drop the small to mid pocket pair.
there is nothing like having pocket 33 with a AQ3 rainbow flop.
and, of course, if there is any betting post-flop when youre holding a small pocket pair with 3 overcards on the flop, fold at once. people lose a lot of money drawing to 2 outters (i.e. not getting away from pocket pairs that dont hit the flop)
small and mid pocket pairs are easy hands to play. its the 10-KK pockets that cause more problems.
