This is why I choose to play only big cards at short handed limit holdem. Suited or not. Of course I'm still not calling 3 bets with QJ or KJ or even KQ unless I'm playing a maniac... but still, hand selection is first, position and agressive betting are tied for 2nd... reading your opponent in all situations is important. You have to know what guys will call you all the way then fold for one bet on the river, and of course you have to know who will play that 73o the whole way with middle pair. The swings are inevitable at limit poker and like Jek said, they are amplified at short handed poker, this is the main reason I play no limit ring games... going on 3 months of not one losing day at no limit... knock on wood.
