Forum: Bonus Whores | So I just started playing poker about a month ago but am learning quickly - have finished in the top 3 in about 8 of my last 20 SnGs, so I'm happy with how I'm improving (considering I finished in the top 3 about 0 times out of my first 20 SnGs) but I seem to have a horrible problem with losing lots of money with a second best hand -
ie; my full house getting beaten by quads, flush getting beaten by a higher flush, straight getting beaten by a flush, etc
part of it is that I think I get tilty because I try to play a tight game and at these small buy-in SnGs people are putting in half their stack with KQ and shit so when I finally get something good I'm like fuck you, you don't have anything and then...well they often do...
another problem might be not being aggressive enough on the turn and letting people draw for that last river card....but I think my biggest problem is not ever folding on the river. There have been multiple times when I /know/ I'm beat, but I can't bear to fold when its only another 400 or so into a 2k+ pot.....
So what to do with great hands that have a possiblity of being beat? Obviously I don't want to get pushed off them by some asshole bluffer, but I'm tired of watching 1/2 my stack disappear nearly every game when I have a good hand beat..... |
