How the hell do you guys do it?

I finally decided last night that I'd play a lil 2/4 on Interpoker even though I've had the roll for over 3 months. OMG, my heart has never beat faster than when I had 50$ pot I wasn't 100% sure I'd win. How the hell do you guys get over this feeling? I understand I'm extremely risk averse for a gambler (still haven't done stickies, won't touch em til I got over 4k); but this is crazy, I've never been so scared that I wasn't a winning player. Then of course I play the Party 25 PL and NL games, so I guess 2/4 isn't all that much more risk.
