I believe, if you're serious about this game and winning at it, you should be always reading or re-reading a poker book. If the book gives you one little thing that leads to you winning just one nice pot, you've paid for the book. Even the "bad" books will give you at least that.
Books I believe are must reads:
The Psychology of Poker by Schoonmaker
Theory of Poker, Hold'em Poker for Advanced Players and Tournament Poker for Advanced Players by Sklansky
Super System I and II by Brunson
Gambling Theory and other topics by Malmuth
Harrington on Hold'em I and II by Harrington
I would also recommend you regularly read a number of forums, blogs, etc. on the net starting with 2 + 2. |
