Also, make sure you are sitting to the left of the maniac. If you are not in one of the 3 seats to the maniac's left, get up and leave the table. Be much, much more patient. But pay attention. Even maniacs generally have a betting pattern, watch him carefully. In many cases, you'll be at a table where other guys are playing more loose trying to catch a hand to beat the maniac. He's taking down lots of pots when they don't hit. What you want to do is take everyone else's money from the maniac. Again, I think the single most important thing is position, then patience. |
