Anyway the article was written by Richard Lederer, father of Howard and Annie Duke. Annie was talking about the levels of play as you get better. My memory is slipping but I think this was what she said.
First is understanding your own cards.
2nd is trying to read your opponents cards.
I think 3rd was reading what your opponent thinks you have.
4th was knowing exactly what your opponent has and figuring out how to get the most out of his stack.
I wish I could say I was at the 3rd level but most of the time I am just trying to get a read on my opponent and his hand. I make a lot of stupid bets not thinking about why he is staying in a hand. I think once you can get to the point of knowing what your opponent thinks you will be a very consistant winner. |
