Topic: Which poker book should I get? Forum: Bonus Whores
I've read a ton of books, bought several of them and I'd agree with some of the other posters that Lee Jone's Winning Low-Limit Hold'em or Small Stakes Hold 'em: Winning Big With Expert Play by Miller are best for limit games (once you've learned the basics through playing).

There's not a ton of variation in any of the starting hand requirements in ANY of the how to play limit books but both Jones and Miller also get into optimum betting strategies. For example, you're in the blind, there's a late position raise preflop and you hit something big, but vulnerable on the flop (e.g. bottom two pair). Both Jones and Miller explain why it's not always best to lead out but let the orginal raiser bet and then checkraise him to make it two bets to the other limpers. Playing good cards is most of the battle (and folding sucker hands like AJo behind a raise) but knowing how to bet and why and when to bet is also crucial. I got Hilger's book for free but by the time I went through it it was all old news to me so I don't have an unbiased opinion (seemed to cover the right stuff).

For tournament play, Harrington's two books are great (and he addresses the differences in online play) and one of T. J. Cloutier's books Championship No Limit & Pot Limit Hold 'Em (with Tom McEvoy) is good too. Though I think Cloutier's advice is skewed a bit because what works for him won't necessarily work for someone without his tight rep, that and he's kind of a big scary guy even at his age.
