Obviously implementing a serious game theory strategy is out of the question, unless you are in fact D Skla (thats what I call him...we're tight). The book is an outline of how one should think about poker. Armed with just the theory of poker and a calculator for your prefered game...you'll go pretty far. You should read other books too...but make sure to fit in some time for ToP.
My other picks are Ciaffone's middle limit hold-em (hand quizes!), the aforementioned 2+2 books, and Super System.
Also...even though cardplayer magazine sucks...be on the look out for Roy Cooke's articles. Just search the archive for Roy Cooke. Ignore the rest. Including Rolf...he's too tight...don't listen to him. |
